About Founder
Dr. Tejal Bharat Pathak, the visionary founder of Aarohi Music Academy, is a renowned classical vocalist and educator with a lifelong dedication to preserving and promoting the rich traditions of Indian classical music. With accolades from national and international platforms, she has been instrumental in shaping the future of aspiring musicians through her innovative teaching methods and unwavering passion for the art form.
ACADEMIC DISSECTIONS
- Passed B.Com. from H. L. College of Commerce and secured 66%. Obtained National Merit Certificate (Year 1986)
- Passed M.Com. from H. L. College of Commerce (Year 1989)

PROFESSIONAL DISTINCTION IN MUSIC
- Secured first class in Sangeet Visharad, a degree course in classical vocal music conferred by Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Vidhyalaya, Maharashtra.
- Secured first class in Sangeet Alankar, a master’s degree in classical vocal music conferred by Gandharva Mahavidyalaya recognized by Gujarat University, Ahmedabad.
- Attained a Ph.D. in classical vocal music under the guidance of Dr. Smt. Monicaben Shah (Surmani) of Kirana Gharana, conferred by Gujarat University.
PRESENTATIONS AT NATIONAL LEVEL
- Participated in the first women’s convention organized by the National Students Union of India (NSU), inaugurated by Late Prime Minister Mr. Rajeev Gandhi (1986).
- Coordinating regular programmes in Music Education for G.I.E.T. (Gujarat State Educational Technology Bhavan, Ahmedabad) since 2003.
- Vocal performances organized by Aradhana Sangeet Academy on All India Radio in Yuvavani Programmes.
- Music programmes broadcasted by Doordarshan and Zee Gujarati, with 6 songs broadcasted.
- Served as a visiting faculty in Commerce College for Women run by Mahipatram Ashram Trust, Ahmedabad.
PRESENTATIONS AT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL
- Conducted music lessons in the U.S.A. for Indian-American children at Athens, Georgia, U.S.A.
- Served as a teacher in Clarke County Schools of Georgia, U.S.A., teaching fundamentals of music, Indian classical music, and its appreciation to elementary and high school students in Georgia.
- Performed at the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, U.S.A.
- Performed classical recitations at Indian Cultural Festival, Athens (organized by Indian Resident Association).
PROJECTS COORDINATED
- TV broadcast programmes for GIET on ‘Prayers’ – An important aspect of education in schools.
- Importance of prayer for students studying in schools. These programmes were viewed by 2,000 schools of Gujarat State.
- GIET recorded a series of CDs on Sangeet Sikshan – Basic concepts of classical music. These programmes are being used by school children at state and national levels.
- GIET recorded a series of CDs on Subhashis in Sanskrit – Good Sayings from Vedas. These programmes are being used by school children at state and national levels.
- GIET recorded programmes of CDs on Ruturang – A musical experience of different seasons of our country with detailed information. These programmes are being used by school children at state and national levels by the Ministry of Human Resource.
- Initiated a project to establish a performing arts academy under the guidance of Late Padma Bhushan Shri Jagjit Singhji.
- Imparted training of music to children in slum areas of Nava Wadaj & took them on stage to perform in front of dignitaries like Shri Jagjit Singhji and others.
- Aarohi Music Academy has signed an MOU with the Government of Gujarat for setting up a ‘Performing Arts Academy’ in Ahmedabad.
